Step-by-step Usage Instructions
Powder & Liquid Teeth Whitening System (Whitening Powder + Activator Liquid + Gingival Barrier Gel + Cheek Retractor + Dental Whitening Light) For Professional Dentists | Chairside In-office Treatment
Notice: All procedures must be operated by licensed dental professionals. Contraindication: Patients with untreated caries, gum ulcers, exposed root dentin, pregnancy, severe dentin hypersensitivity are not suitable for teeth whitening.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
- Conduct complete oral inspection. Exclude patients with whitening contraindications.
- Take pre-treatment tooth shade record & clinical check-up.
- Polish teeth to remove plaque and surface stains.
- Apply lip moisturizer.Place the cheek retractor into patient’s mouth to pull open lips and cheeks, fully expose target anterior teeth.
- Arrange cotton rolls and saliva ejector inside oral cavity. Keep tooth surfaces completely dry. Saliva will reduce whitening efficiency.
- Put the face cover over patient’s face.
- Ask the patient to wear protective goggles before LED light treatment. The goggles block harmful blue light from the whitening lamp and protect eyes during the entire chairside teeth whitening process. Keep goggles worn until treatment finishes.
Step 1: Apply Gingival Barrier Gel (Gum Protector)
Install fine application tip on gingival barrier syringe, shake the syringe well.
Squeeze the barrier gel evenly along gingival margin, cover 1–2mm onto gum tissue to isolate teeth and gums.
Do not let barrier gel cover tooth enamel. Fill every gap to avoid whitening agent leakage.
Activate the gel with blue LED whitening light or dental LED curing light for 20–30 seconds until fully solidified. Solidified barrier protects gingiva from chemical irritation and burns.
Step 2: Mix Whitening Powder & Activator Liquid
Take 1 bottle of whitening powder and matching activator liquid. Pour both into the mixing dish.
Stir sufficiently with mixing stick until smooth homogeneous mixture forms.
Mix right before application. Do not prepare the mixture too early to prevent premature invalidation.
Step 3: Apply Mixed Whitening Agent on Teeth
Use fine applicator brush to coat mixed whitening compound evenly on dried tooth labial surfaces.
Recommended coating thickness: 0.5–1mm. Avoid smearing onto solidified gingival barrier edges.
Do not contact oral mucosa.
Step 4: Activate with Dental LED Whitening Light
Adjust LED whitening light position, keep lamp head 8–12 cm away from tooth surfaces.
Turn on light and start timing. Single cycle: 10 minutes.
After each 10-minute cycle: check agent status. Replenish fresh whitening mixture if it dries out.
Standard total illumination time: 3 cycles (30 minutes in total).
Step 5: Post-Treatment Cleaning
After finishing light activation, thoroughly scrape and clean all residual whitening mixture off teeth.
Peel off the solid gingival barrier gel completely.
Let patient rinse mouth fully with clean water. Remove protective goggles, face cover, cheek retractor, cotton rolls and saliva ejector.
Record post-treatment shade. Deliver aftercare advice.
Aftercare Reminder for Patients
Avoid pigmented food, coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco within 24 hours after treatment.
Slight temporary tooth sensitivity is normal; it usually disappears within 1–3 days.
If persistent severe sensitivity or gum ache occurs, contact your dentist immediately.
